Alesja Avdejeva — Graduate of the Manual Testing Course at Tallinn Learning

Alesja recently completed her training and has already finished an internship at one of our partner companies, gaining valuable hands-on experience. We spoke with Alesja about her impressions of the course, practical training, and her first steps in a QA career.

Alesja, you recently completed the manual testing program at our school. Could you tell us about your first impressions?

Studying at your school turned out to be the best decision at the start of my QA career. By the time I discovered Tallinn Learning, I had already completed one manual testing course and spent many hours studying independently.

What was especially important to me was that there wasn’t a single unfamiliar word or term in the program — I never doubted whether it was worth spending another three months on training. I was also drawn by the promise of a large number of practical tasks and the opportunity to take part in an internship. That’s why I decided to join — and I have not regretted it even once. In fact, the course exceeded my expectations.

After completing the course, you took part in an internship at one of our partner companies. Could you share your impressions?

First of all, I want to thank your school for providing real internship opportunities — it’s truly amazing.

It’s no secret that in recent years it has been difficult for QA specialists without experience: many rejections after interviews and standard responses like “unfortunately, we cannot consider your application.” That’s why the opportunity to become part of a real project filled me with great enthusiasm.

This experience was extremely important for me. Even at the early stage of the internship, my desire to deeply understand tasks and my strong sense of responsibility helped a lot. All the knowledge and information I gained during the course gave me confidence in myself. I would also like to highlight that the opportunity to start an internship while still studying was a very pleasant bonus.

Was the knowledge you gained during the course sufficient for a comfortable internship experience?

Yes, absolutely. I should mention that I joined the course with a fairly solid knowledge base for a junior specialist, and much of the theory was already familiar to me. However, the quality of the additional information and the practical examples shared by the instructor turned out to be especially valuable.

The lectures were intensive and engaging — there wasn’t a single boring moment, and I never felt like skipping a class. I have personally thanked the instructor many times and am happy to do so again here. Please pass my compliments to Ekaterina. Even when I occasionally “lost my train of thought” or took longer to answer questions, my focus was always there — thank you for your patience and support. Overall, I had no issues understanding the material.

How useful were the practical skills you gained?

Practice — and I emphasize this deliberately — became the key element of the training. The real-world experience shared by our instructor allowed me to navigate work-related tasks with confidence.

Interns were not given overly complex or excessively large tasks, so the onboarding process was smooth and clear. At the same time, I always wanted more — there was a strong desire to apply all my knowledge in practice and continue growing.

And finally, a few words from you to the Tallinn Learning team.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the entire Tallinn Learning team. It’s clear that you truly love what you do, and that’s why everything you create works so well — you can really feel it.

Special thanks to Katya for patiently answering a million of my questions, to Alina for her help and support, and to Vladimir for always being available. I wish you growth, development, and as many happy graduates as possible!
